Wacky World of Friday Night Dates

Recently we went on a double date with a couple of friends. We were given a theme of "wacky". Thus for the rest of the night we dressed wacky and did some wacky things. Really we just had a good time being together, which is what dating is all about!! I thought I would share the remenants of our wackiness!

In other news, we are still plugging away at school, but are excited for Thanksgiving to get together with family. This past week Ryan officially started putting in job applications (very proactive!) and even had an interview. I am so proud of him, he looked good, his resume looked good and I am sure that he will have his pick of jobs when we are ready. Things in my life are looking good. I am trying to finish papers for school and in about a week I have a conference that I am attending in Ogden for the Smart Steps Grant I am working on (it is a stepfamily edcuation program offered to families througout Utah). The primary program is getting closer and we are way, way, way excited to be done with it! It has been a long time in coming!

We love you all, thanks for your love and support!

Halloween

Costumes, candy and fun! Last night we had a great time with the Kiesel family at Anna's. We went trick or treating, played games and had carmel apples and homemade rootbeer! We had so much fun planning and making our cosutmes!! They turned out really great too!

As you can see, Ryan was the second ammendment, and I was a ninja turtle. Oh the fun of dressing up! Here is another picture just for kicks and giggles! Happy Halloween!!!

Primary Program

On November 16 is the first ever Davis Clan Primary Program. It is the first time that Ryan and I will be an integral part of the primary program in the Bridgerland 2nd ward. Of course the primary children will be important too. Really though, we will just be excited to get it over with. The program was pushed back a few weeks due to the initiation of a new primary presidency. The kids know the songs really well, and we are starting to get them down too. Thus, if you think about it on November 16, or anytime before that, please pray for us. We will need it.
We will also need your prayers to make it through the semester. We have been crazy buzy these past weeks and it will most likely get worse as the semester progresses. The good news is that after the first week of December we will be completely free from schoolwork until January. Until then we will work our way through homework and watch Seinfield every night at 10:05pm.

On a happier note, we just had our fall break this past weekend. Ryan had the great idea to visit promitory point and the golden spike. So we packed a lunch in our picnic basket and headed to the middle of nowhere.

This is us at the end of the day. The sun was pretty bright, and there was really no golden spike, just holes. But we had a good time and were able to learn more about the history of our country/Utah. Here is a train we visited on the trip.

New Apartment

I am sooooo excited! Ryan and I just got the keys to our apartment. Although we won't be living together for another month (We don't want to be scandalous!) We are going to start moving some of our stuff in and making it all married-like and homey. I'll try to post some pictures of the apartment so all who are curious can take a look. Personally, I am impressed with our apartment hunting abilities, it is a great apartment. We also have been searching the classifieds for furniture and happened upon the greatest thing in the world, an old piano. It plays fine and is lovely, but ugly. I guess you can't expect much more than that for only $150. What a steal! Anyway, I am pretty excited because we are getting married in 22 days! I am convinced that although it seems like a long time, it will go very quickly, so I hope to see you all there.

Family

I had a realization today. Life is about people. Perhaps this is a realization that I have had a million times, but it seems that periodically I need to remember this. It is easy to get caught up with things and money and activities and events and even just everyday life. But if you are really on track, you are paying attention to the people around you. There are no people who are more important in my life than my family. I just spent the last week with my family and family to be and wow! Seriously, they are the connection to my past and my link to the future. Getting married adds a whole new twist because now I have two families. Somehow they are beginning to blend together to become my life. My family has always been my life, and now that I am getting new family (Ryans family), they are starting to become the same. It is an amazing thing and I hope at one point everything will become natural and just feel just as smooth with my new family as it is with the family I grew up in. I think I am starting to ramble, so I think that I will call this it, but I am so grateful that I have been blessed with two amazing families!

Wedding Planning Stress!!

I feel like a chicken with its head cut off! Yes, I really do. I have decided that out of all the things in the world I have done to this point, planning a wedding is the most stressful. Not because of the event itself. Weddings are beautiful and wonderful things. However, when you plan a wedding there are a thousand little tiny details that don't really matter, BUT they have to be decided and as the one getting married, you are expected to do it. Anyway, I would like to show what wedding planning has done to us. . .

Okay, seriously we are loving being engaged! It is a stressful, but fun time. Really it is great. No one gets upset with us for being anti-social, I can break down in tears anytime I want and people just excuse it as stress and most of all I can spend as much time with Ryan as I want. He really is such a blessing to me.

My Very Own Life Sized Prince Charming

This is my first blog. I have always wanted to start a blog, but fear has kept me from joining the world of blogging. However, recent events have led me to believe that keeping a blog might be a fun outlet. Here goes nothing. . .
Like any other little starry-eyed little girl I grew up thinking I wanted to find my own prince charming. I dreamed of how handsome he would be. We would spend all of our days together dancing and frolicking in the fields of flowers. He would tell me I was beautiful and buy me roses and somewhere in the mix he would delight me with a diamond ring.

When I was seventeen my mother asked me what I wanted for Christmas. I answered with a smart reply, "Mom, I want a man". Christmas day came and much to my surprise there was a Ken doll under the tree waiting for me. He was a miniature version of my prince charming. We have been good friends these many years. However, yesterday I was forced to give him up for my very own (life-sized this time) prince charming. How did I know he was my prince charming? Well, I became suspicious when we started spending all of our time together. After that, he told me I was beautiful, gave me roses and yesterday he delighted me with a diamond ring! That was enough to seal the deal, but he is more than my own prince charming, he is my best friend. I am so blessed to have him in my life.
